Who's who

Our Committee is a hard working group of volunteers, elected on a regular basis, charged with the efficient operation of the Supporters Club and known for pretty much running things on match-day.  Meetings of the committee are open to our adult members who are welcome to attend and ask questions.  All members received an email ahead of each meeting inviting them to attend.

Chairperson – Marian Davis

The Chairs main responsibility is to run monthly committee meetings and annually the AGM.  The Chair sets goals with the committee and holds the casting vote in the event of deadlock.  The Chair is the final arbiter of the rules and will endeavour to resolve any disputes that arise.  The Chair also acts as an ambassador for the Football Club externally and works to improve links across the different sections of the club, promoting membership and engagement.   The Chair has a seat on the Board of the Football Club to ensure the supporters perspective is always present in club thinking.

Secretary – VACANCY - Temporarily filled by Marian Davis

The Secretary is responsible for the administrative tasks associated with running the club.  This entails taking minutes, distributing agendas and any official paperwork relating to the AGM.  The Secretary is also responsible for booking committee meetings and recording attendance.  In the future as the club grows there may be some liaison with external bodies to be undertaken.

Communications Officer – VACANCY

This is a key position as the appropriate person will oversee the production of the match-day programme for both the men's and ladies teams, collation of player-of-the-month/season voting, production of the members magazine and control of social media.  We are looking for someone with the appropriate level of IT skill that are a necessity for this position so if that might be you please get in touch.

Membership Secretary – Mel Davis

Mel took over the role of Membership Secretary earlier this year and his main responsibility is managing the 'membermojo' online membership system.  Mel oversees member's registration, ensuring members have no issues signing up, are notified when membership is expiring and that they receive a shiny new membership card at the right time.  Mel is also the Clubs link with one of the club's chosen charities, Prostate Cancer UK and a member of the match day safety team at the Butts Park Arena with a special responsibility for hospitality.

Finance Manager – Alan Ward

The Finance Manager takes care of the supporters club bank account and maintains positive cashflow, making recommendations to the committee. This person also prepares a report for the AGM and liaises with independent auditors who 'inspect the books' and methods used.

Merchandising Manager – Alan Ward

The Merchandising Manager is responsible for the purchase and sale of branded goods on match-days; supply of our club shop in Walsgrave and taking of orders at other times.

Vice Chair and Volunteer Co-ordinator – Harry Bragginton

As Vice Chair, Harry will support the Chair by covering for her in an absence and by sharing in strategic thinking.   As volunteers are the life blood of Coventry United, Harry also holds a key position in ensuring that our volunteers are supported and nurtured.  We have a number of important volunteers who give up their time freely to support the club and we are extremely grateful to them.  As the club increases in size the number of volunteers needed will increase so we will always be looking to engage new volunteers, matching them to suitable tasks according to their skills and the level of time they can commit.  Not all volunteering has to happen on match days either as most of all we want to make volunteering for Coventry United an enjoyable experience.   You'll also see Harry on match days as a member of the safety team at the Butts Park Arena.

Fundraising Manager – Roy Edden

Roy joined the Supporters Club committee in November 2017, he is also a sponsor, Coventry United VP and part of the match-day media team.

Roy will coordinate activities in respect of raising funds, seeking out and applying for grants whilst also monitoring success of applications.  Also, this is the lead role for exploring and delivering options for social events, for selling the tickets and ensuring the event runs smoothly.   Roy will be happy to discuss ideas for fundraising events with members and looks forward to welcoming you to future events.

Junior Liaison – Keith Green

The aim of this role is to ensure that Junior Football teams are represented in club thinking and specifically by acting as a conduit between the Supporters Club and the managers of all junior teams.

Community Manager - Greg Bartlem

Greg joined the Supporters Club committee in November 2017 and is leading our charge on involving community groups and schools in the activities of our football club. Great work is already underway with a number of new relationships formed and these will feature in a forthcoming news article on this site.
