Coventry United Ladies 1-1 QPR WomenDate: 08 April 2019 at 18:03 by Liam Cook
Coventry United were denied victory for only the third time this season in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division, as winless QPR Women held the Red and Green Girls to a 1-1 draw.
Despite Coventry dominating the first half, bombarding the Rangers goal with shot after shot, United’s accuracy let them down, while Gillian Kasirye’s heroic goalkeeping kept her side in with a fighting chance. Nikki Miles headed United into the lead half an hour into the game, but the home side’s wasted opportunities would come back to haunt them, as Kasha Petit equalised for QPR in the second half. With everyone back to hold off a United fightback, the winless Rangers held on an unlikely point. The draw sees Coventry extend their lead over Cardiff City to 7 points, with the Bluebirds out of action until next Sunday.
