United 0-2 Worcester CityDate: 30 December 2018 at 09:45 by Liam Cook
Coventry United end 2018 with a 2-0 defeat at home to Worcester City.
The Red and Greens fell behind just two minutes in as a lack of defensive concentration allowed Jamal Lawrence through on goal, who made no mistake one one one with keeper Brendon Bunn. The Red and Greens felt agrieved not to have been given two penalties in the first half, the first of which saw Kai Williams clearly fouled within the confines of the penalty area, although the referee gave a free kick only. Williams was then barged over in the area shortly before half time, but again the referee was unimpressed. United's best oppurtunity came when debutant Eli Bako had an effort cleared off the line following a goalmouth scramble.
The second half saw United control possesion, but fail to use it to their advantage in attack. The Blues sealed all three points with a George Forsyth header just 5 minutes after the break. From there the game was safely in the visitors hands, and United limped to the finish, rarely challenging Sam Gilder's clean sheet.
